Automatic waste collection system at the Hong Kong–Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park to streamline waste management and boost recycling across Phase 1 (Buildings 8–9). As the first system in Hong Kong to meet fire-safety standards and feature electronic scales with mobile-app integration, it enables real-time measurement of different waste types. Nineteen collection doors were installed in the two buildings—three for recyclables and 16 for general household waste—feeding a central waste station that houses four compaction machines, one household waste box, three recycling boxes, four separators, a flow distributor, and four high-powered fans. This integrated solution enhances on-site collection and centralized processing, promotes environmentally friendly practices and resource recovery, and significantly improves waste-processing efficiency across the park.
